Shaky hands/fingers

I've been noticing for quite some time that my hands and fingers are extremely shaky. I hold them loosely in front of me and in certain positions they shake a lot. Any ideas/suggestions/solutions?

Re: Shaky hands/fingers

Yes, I had this problem but only in my right hand and fingers. I asked every doc I saw for the last ten years and they all had various theories, none of which had cures.

This past year I saw a physical therapist for a totally unrelated problem. During one of my visits, I mentioned the shaking to her. She immediately knew what is was and what to do. I can't remember the specifics but she worked on the area in my armpit and shoulder. The shaking is gone! So, my advice is to see a physical therapist.

Re: Shaky hands/fingers

The problem could be quite a few things. The shaking could be related to bad nerves. I don't want to scare you, but my older brother died last year from Huntington's Disease - a genetic heridetery illness similar to Parkinsons and MS. One of the first physical symptons that he showed was a slight shake in his hands and legs. That slight shaking worsened over the course of the course of the next few years and turned into the incontrollable movements associated with Huntington's. It could also be an early sign of Parkinson's. I don't want to scare you. The shaking could be down to hundreds of minor things. I just want you to be aware. If you don't have a history of Huntington's, Parkinsons etc in the family I'm sure you'll be fine
