Does anyone else freak out to belly buttons?

After reading the belly button post I thought of this...
I have the hardest time touching my belly button. If I have to clean it, I freak out. Even if I see someone else touch their own belly button "oh my god!" I can't explain the feeling I feel when this occurs. And get this!... and I swear I am not exaggerating! But when I see the Pillsbury dough boy on TV and a person's finger pushes in his tummy where his belly button belongs, I just freak. I have had this problem for as long as I remember. Anyone else go through this?

I don't "freak out," but it does bother me too. Kinda like fingernails on a chalkboard

Everyone has little things that 'freak them out'. If my husband sees one of his foods touch another on the plate he freaks out. I use to freak out when I had to drive over a bridge. We all have them, some are just stranger than others.

I'm with Xerygon here - it's like nails on a chalkboard - I can't tell you how dirty my belly button gets because I'm too squeamish to clean it out! (I get the same squeamishness trying to do a self breast exam!)

Wow, now this is really bizarre.I am not making light of what you all are dealing with here, believe me,everyone has their own little 'issues" this is just so odd?I can't even begin to wonder just why you all feel this way about belly buttons.and so many of you.what on earth could cause something like this? That question must drive you all a little crazy i am sure.have any of you ever experienced some sort of a trauma to your buttons or something?I really do feel for you all, this must be kind of strange to have to deal with.i think all of you should try and find some sort of commonality between you.there has to be a reason that all of you are feeling this same thing.I myself would really be curious to find out just what causes this feeling to occur.I am certain you all do too.i hope you can find some answers.good luck, marcia

Re: Does anyone else freak out to belly buttons?

ohh no , i get this, i hate touching my belly button, and cleaning it out, i've recently had to clean it out using a cotton bud and some baby oil, coz it gets whitey stuff in it, and it smells, though i think its just sweat though i haven't noticed this before..and i get all freaked out about it, and i get scared into i put the cotton bud in to far, though i don't push it right inside, just the bits you can see. I'm even getting all stiff and freaked out just talking and reading about it now lol. My sister sometimes touches hers when i go on about not liking belly buttons so that she winds me up and i go all "oh don't!" lol ...strange isn't it i was thinking about having a navel piecing but erm i don't think so now...

Re: Does anyone else freak out to belly buttons?

I don't know if this is true, but I've heard that when you touch a guy's belly button, it hurts, something to do with their testicles hurting, but I'm not sure.
And everyone does have weird things they freak out over. My socks can't be half off, bugs me to no end.
And I have my belly button piereced, and I'm quite proud of it!

Re: Does anyone else freak out to belly buttons?

I'm squimish about belly buttons too!!!
I never realized some people aren't, lol
mine is very deep also, like someone else said, wonder if that has something to do with it ~ ?
that grosses me out even more that it might mean that the doctor cut the cord too short ~ ewwwwwww
it definitely is a bad feeling if I stick my finger all the way in mine, it does almost hurt for me ~ it feels all sensitive right now just thinking about it!
it almost does feel like i'm going to poke all the way through if I stick my finger in there ~ it's defnitely very sensitive!

Re: Does anyone else freak out to belly buttons?

Well if you only know what i went thruog i've had 5 surgeries on my stomache from my breast bone down past my belly button, and i just had surgery yesterday because i had a infection from a previous surgery so now i think most of my belly button is gone, so i guess i kinda envy you guys for even have a belly buton to talk about. Sorry i'm rambling on but i guess i'm a little depressed about this right now and had to vent, i guess what i am trying to say is be happy you got one.

Re: Does anyone else freak out to belly buttons?

Wow. So strange. A belly button phobia.

It doesn't bother me one bit but I am so glad y'all found out you aren't alone with this.

I used to think a lot of what I did and felt was strange but then I would share some of it with people and I was amazed at how many thought, felt the way I did.

Anyhow, carry on. I just had to comment because it's quite interesting.
