For about two weeks, I have had a painful tongue. It started out as a yucky ulcer on the tip of my tongue (doesn't everyone get those every now and then?). Then as the ulcer healed, it seemed like the pain spread under my tongue. Now my tongue is very red underneath and it hurts constantly. It may be swollen. It is affecting my speech and ability to eat. Any ideas? It seems to be getting a little worse each day.
Thanks!
Beth
I finally have an answer! The doctor didn't know, so she did blood work and it turns out that I am anemic. Of course, by the time I got to the doctor my tongue was starting to feel better. This problem has helped me to not eat much during this eating time of the year but that probably doesn't help with anemia. So now I am taking Iron pills that make me feel sick - but my tongue feels better!!!!
