Quitting smoking and shortness of breath

I quit smoking about five months ago and ever since I quit, I have had this shortness of breath and I get winded very easily. I am 25, smoked about a half a pack a day for about ten years. Has this ever happened to anyone b/c it is making me nervous???Thanks

Re: Quitting smoking and shortness of breath

I think it has to do with your lungs increasing their capacity since you have quit smoking. I felt short of breath for awhile too when I quit and it went away eventually. Oh and Congrats on quitting. That is great.
