| Muscles have remained "pulled"...but for 4 months?
Ever since around the beginning of October, I felt pelvic discomfort out of the clear blue sky. It was not pain, but more like pressure. I also found a lump on the left side. My doctor told me it was a pulled muscle and to take ibuprofen. The discomfort subsided for a week then returned. And now, four months later, it's here and it is constant.
This discomfort feels like a tender pressure, and it feels as if it is located in the area where my legs meet my body, but it apparently covers the entire area of the sides of my pelvis, upper legs, and hips. It worsens when I sit down or when I curl up in my sleep. At times I feel the pressure stretch across the front of my pelvis, but it is very distinctly on both sides all the time.
Some people have suggested to me that I may have some sort of ovarian problem, but I am unsure. I have had regular periods for almost two years now. I was on birth control to help alleviate period cramps, but I stopped it in November because I could not get anymore. I have heard that birth control lessens the risk of ovarian problems, but I assume a woman can still get them despite the birth control.
I'm confused; this pelvic discomfort does not interfere with daily life, but it's rather annoying. At times it feels like my legs are detached when the discomfort goes into my upper legs. Also, sometimes I get a light ache in my lower back that radiates into my buttocks; it feels like gas pain, and 99 percent of the time that is precisely what it is. I do not experience diarrhea, constipation, pain when passing a stool, etc. I have experienced a nautious feeling, but I do not feel sick in the normal sense of nausea - it feels like there's a bubble in my throat that tries to come up. Forcing myself to belch repeatedly only relieves this problem temporarily. Don't know if any of that helps O.o

Can muscles stay 'pulled' this long? Are there any other possibilities?
Note: I am not sexually active or pregnant, so I can rule out pregnancy and STDs as possible causes.
