Question Pins & Needles in BOTH hands and legs?

Hi Ė Iím 27 female, 120lbs 5í3.

2 weeks ago I was grocery shopping and I started to get pins & needles in both hands. I thought, thatís strange, never had it in both hands before (I hardly ever get pins & needles).
The sensation was felt all day. I noticed it the next day as well, sometimes really bad sometimes minor.

This has been going on for two weeks now, and esp. when I workout. For the last 3 days I have not had it, but I did not workout over the weekend. Monday I had it during workout, and also again white trimming some chicken for dinner. Today it got worse, I had it in both hands while working out, and then I got a sensation of sweat running down my lower legs (shin area), but as I just started my workout there was no sweat present.

Iíve tried changing up my workout clothes, routine, even bought new shoes thinking maybe I was squeezing something that was cutting off my circulation Ė so thatís not it. Also it happens while not working out (just in my hands thus far) so maybe its not related to the workout.

It can be pretty painful, so if I clap my hands together the back hurt, they are very sensitive if I touch the back of them.

I do light weight training and cardio 4-5X per week. I have been doing a similar routine for years Ė my diet is fairly whole / healthy and has not changed that much over the last couple of years.

I donít know what to do; Iím kinda freaked out.
Please help, thank you.
Susie

Re: Pins & Needles in BOTH hands and legs?

see a doctor as there are several possible causes, one is the fight or flight response, caused by stress, look it up on the net via a search engine

Re: Pins & Needles in BOTH hands and legs?

Hi, I know about the "fight or flight" response ones body has in reaction to stress or trauma. I have had no stress for a good long while though. So I dont think thats the problem.

Thanks, OS*

Just a possibiity..but perhaps you've got some kind of nerve impingement in your neck and/or shoulders and it's being referred to your hands.

Re: Pins & Needles in BOTH hands and legs?

Well when I first started getting symptoms it was pins and needles down my right side.....it never went away and I got diagnosed 6yrs later with a brain malformation....however there are multitudes of things that are far less severe....best to see a dr about it and if more symptoms arise or it gets worse maybe checkout gettign an MRI which will show pinched nerves and other problems etc etc....

Re: Pins & Needles in BOTH hands and legs?

I get pins and needles in both hands and partial legs. Most of the time I see a chiropractor and find I have pinched a nerve. Recently I hung by a chinning bar and the same happened to me.
