Unhappy I can see my pulse in my eyes! Is this normal?

Hello

Okay... since about a year ago I've noticed that when I sit still and look at something I can see my eyes dilating to the beat of my heart. I mean I can see my heart beating in my eyes. I could count my pulse by staring at a wall.

Also, I think it's getting stronger, I can see it much more clearly than I could used to.

I am 19 years old, and pretty healthy all round. I exercise 1 every 2 days.

This is probably from the blood vessels behind my eyes, I guess.

Is this normal? Please help!!

Re: I can see my pulse in my eyes! Is this normal?

I don't know if it's normal or not, but I've had it for 26 years. I first noticed it when I was pregnant with my daughter, so I figured it was a "pregnancy thing". But it didn't go away, and it's still with me. Next time you go to your eye doctor or even your regular doctor, you could mention it and see what they say. As long as your blood pressure is ok and your ocular pressure is where it should be, I think you'll be fine.

Cool, thanks! As long as blood doesn't start pouring into my eye, I'm good!

J:

I'd get my blood pressure checked, were I you. The same phenomenon occurs in my eyes, but it's worse when my blood pressure is elevated.
