| Swollen glands in neck, clogged ear, help!
I'd love some advice on this if anyone has experienced it. I woke up two mornings ago with achy sinuses, jaw and teeth. I had the beginnings of a swollen lymph node in my neck. The next day, the teeth and sinus pain were gone, but the lymph nodes were more sore and now today my ear is very achy. feels like the pain is radiating from my ear to my jaw. I've had ear infections before and this doesn't feel like that....my ear is usually sore to the touch just inside and this time it isn't. The whole right side of my face/jaw feels achy. I also feel drainage, my voice is hoarse and i've been "phlegmy." I don't feel sick, no fever, just a little tired, but that could be from lack of sleep much of the weekend. Could this be allergies?? I live in Baltimore; the pollen has been terrible and our weather has been hot one day, cold and rainy the next. I've had something similar to this happen before and it went away in time, but this time the aching is worse. I had a severe inner and outer ear infection about 5 years ago and it seems like whenever I get ANYTHING, my right ear winds up clogging up or aching. It's on the right side and my throat is also sore on the right side. It doesn't feel like strep (no fever) and I don't feel as sick as when I've had tonsilitis, but I would bet there is pus (yuk) there...could drainage from allergies cause this as well? Please advise if you can; it's making me cranky! I don't want to go the doctor if I don't have to. I just had bronchitis a few weeks ago and I don't want to take time from work again. Thanks!
