24 Year old male odd pains

Well I have a quick question in the last few months I have had wierd pains and aches. It all began about 4 months ago I started getting sharp pains in my chest. At night it would get worse and be followed by cold sweats and difficult to breath. well i got real scared one night and went to the ER because i thought i was having a heart attack. The did ekg, bloodwork and said they found nothing wrong and it could be indegestion. So i followed up with my doctor and he said that is possible but he noticed my blood pressure was to high so he put me on a blood pressure pill. Well i have been allright but i still get a couple sharp pains in the afternoon around my chest. Also about 2-3 weeks ago I started having pains in my upper back and shoulder area Were it is like you can stretch to make it feel better but it just stays there all day long. Everyone tells me i'm fine its just that now that i'm getting older you start feeling more things But i just don't understand why i would happen so sudden. So basically just dont feel 100% .about once our twice a day i get the pains in my chest but my sore back lasts all day long i would think it would go away after a while. Just curious if anyone has any suggestions could it be anxiety, stress, stomach problem. I am working on quitting smoking and have started to eat better foods.
Thank you for any info or suggestions.

Re: 24 Year old male odd pains

I have an anxeity disorder. When I have an attack it feels like I am having a heart attack. The pain shoots from the front of my chest to back between my shoulder blades. It hurts to breath and it hurts not to breath. I take zanax .5mg when I feel the attack coming on and then take 1 pill every 30 minutes until the attack stops.

The other suggestion is to 1. stop smoking 2. go on diet or start eating better foods BUT DON'T DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. Your doctor should tell you this also. Too many changes at one time can cause physical problems.

Re: 24 Year old male odd pains

Do you notice the pain gets worse after eating a meal? Particularly greasy foods. Get any beter when you havent eaten in awhile? I had simular pains, a little more off and on for maybe 2 months, then it got real bad one night and it wouldnt go away or let up at all. I finally gave in to it and went to the ER, and though I didnt have pains in my bellly or point tenderness I had gallstones. I had been having attacks, until that night, one extra large stone got stuck and caused infection since it blocked the duct off completely. Its just a though, the back pain you describe particularly reminds me of the type I had. Besides an ultrasound or ct, the way you could find out on your own is not to eat anything for a long period, maybe 12 hours or so and see if it goes away or lets up at all. That includes drinking except a little bit of water here and there. They waited 3 days for surgery to let antibiotics work on the infection since it was so bad and in that time they didnt let me eat or drink, I had sips of water from the fountain in the hall though, had to. lol But I got desperate and ate some crackers, but not thinking, they were ritz type which are greasy, only at maybe 3 of them, and I sure paid for it. But I dont know how far off this is for your situation, just throwing suggestions out, chronic pain can be horrible to deal with, especially when you cant find a reason for it.

Because your doctor noticed an increase in your blood pressure, your symptoms really haven't gone away and you aren't feeling "100%", it might be a good idea for your doctor to order a stress test. Many people who have heart problems don't necessarily have an abnormal EKG. Some problems are found on the specht imaging portion of the stress test. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have one done and, with your symptoms, your insurance would cover this. It may very well just be stress but better to rule out a heart problem.
