could this be congestion - General Health Message Board

For the last couple days I have had what feels like congestion in my chest. I have a pressure sensation in my chest when I swallow and sometimes when I talk. I also have a headache, mostly right above my eyes that's worse when I move my eyes, which is why I think it could be sinus related, but I'm not "stuffed up" Any suggestions?

sure, it could be congestion. Do you have any allergies? Where do you live? Do you have any radiating chest pain either down either arm or up through your neck? Is the pressure that you feel, pressure or is more like "snot", you know, kinda' gurgly?

It doesn't radiate. I don't have allergies that I know of, but I do live in Nebraska. The best way to explain it is a "full" feeling. Maybe post nasal drip, I do get sore throats at night sometimes and clear my throat a lot. I take medication for acid reflux, so I don't think it's that.

IT is possible that it is a hiatal hernia. Have you been seen by a gastro-enterologist? Do you have reflux?

I've been seen by an internist who gave me Aciphex for reflux. Shouldn't that help? I should say this does not happen all the time and sometimes even hurts when I talk.
