Electric like shocks in my arm

I keep getting weird pins and needles feelings in my hands and in my right arm it felt like I had an electric current run through my arm almost like if you touch a live wire and get that instant jolt for a second if anyone knows what that feels like, I got that in my arm. Very weird.
Has anyone ever had that happen?

Re: Electric like shocks in my arm

Yes I have had this happen, after a soft tissue injury to the middle knuckle of my hand. The electric shocks used to occur first thing as soon as I woke up and then would ease off as the day went on. I eventually had a cortisone shot in my knuckle and the shocks went away completely. I think it had something to do with a tendon or ligament.

Re: Electric like shocks in my arm

My sister used to get this, and I do only occasionally. For both of us, it was related to anxiety. My sisters was more constant, she was a real mess though. Mine was never severe, only every once in awhile i'll get it, always at least in both hands, and sometimes feet too, and can go down the arm. I am thinking more than likely its not relevant to your case, but you never know. Otherwise I would have to wonder about a pinched nerve somewhere. Them are the only ideas I can offer. If it continues for a lengthy about of time, I would have it looked at. My opionion would be a week or so, but everyone is different, so judge it for yourself and what you feel comfortable with.

Re: Electric like shocks in my arm

Check out the symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome. If you work with your hands a lot (typing, sewing, playing the piano, etc.) it could possibly be the cause. It's quite common.
