At first I thought it was a dental problem but two dentists have told me my teeth are fine and the bump would be on my gum, not halfway up my cheek.
Anyway, it's more annoying than anything and I'd just like to know what it is. My doctor just said to ignore it if it doesn't bother me - he doesn't think it's anything important, but I'd still like to at least know what it is and where the fluid is coming from. It does seem to fill and burst when I eat so maybe related to the salivary glands??
Any advice is appreciated. |
Hey Ct Mom - I'm no doctor but that sounds like a cyst to me... especially because you have had it so long...... And it's probably good news that your doc dosent think it's anything important...... BUT if it were in my mouth it would bother me a lot....
I think I would try gargling for a week or two.... as many times a day as possible.... I'd try warm salt water first (mix 3 or 4 spoons of table salt in a small glass of pretty warm hot water).. then take a mouthful and hold it for a minute or more... I'd repeat that until the glass was empty and do this several times a day.......
If that didnt work I might try a little gargling with hydrogen peroxide....... (it's harmless but kills bad bacteria)
If it dosent go away after that... it's worth a trip to a nose, throat, and ear specialist or a dentist for a "Second Opinion". Hope this helps... thats what I would do anyway
