Re: chances of getting pneumonia again

Hiya Gummy.

Yes you can have reaccuring Pnuemonia and your chances are increased when you have lung problems like COPD, Bronchil Asthma etc providing you have a lung/chest infection.

Anytime you suspect a chest/lung infection its best to see the doctor for some antibiotics as the infections when they take hold of you and usually a pretty resiliant one at that, can go into Pnuemonia.

I'm not sure if you can have the Pnuemonia injection. You'll have to ask your doctor about this.

Take care.

Re: chances of getting pneumonia again

The pneumonia shot lasts for a few years. Check with your doctor. My doctor told me the pneumonia shot covers only the more serious type, not all types of pneumonia and therefore I could get pneumonia even tho I had the shot.

Like the other poster mentioned, when you first get upper respiratory infections see your doctor for proper care, don't wait thinking it will pass away.
