I have trouble seeing things far away so i have to get glasses this weekend.

Anyways, I was wondering if someone can tell me the process they will use to test my eyes. Becouse I was told they spray this stuff in your eye to make them dialated. *Gulp* I don't know if I like the fact of someone shooting liquid in my eyes!

Anyways can someone tell me what the eye doctor does to check your eyes before they give you glasses.

Don't get too anxious, mainly you just look at letters through special lenses. They may blow air on your eyes to check for glaucoma. If they need to dilate your eyes, they just use an eye dropper. The whole process is more tedious than anything else. If they dilate your eyes, they give your temporary dark glasses so the glare from the light won't affect your eyes.

Yeah.. And eye exam isn't anything to get nervous about. They will have you look through various lenses and cover up one eye and the other and read letter and say which line is more clear. Then they may dilate your pupils. This is to look at the blood vessels and internal structures in your eye to make sure that your eyes are healthy. They just use eye drops, nothing scary. Then they may do a glaucoma test. There are two ways that they can do this. First, they can just use the puff of air. This doesn't really hurt, just feels weird. But it only takes a second. The other test involves the instrument actually touching your eye, but if they do that one they will put in eye drops that numb your eyes and you won't feel a thing.

So really, there's nothing to be afraid of at all.
