Sharp chest pains? - General Health Message Board

every once and i awhile i get these sharp stabs in the same area around my heart area. It feels like theres a pinched nerve and it makes a sharp pains. The pain lasts for a few seconds goes away and then comes back sometimes. Its usually on the right side but i just noticed a spot on the left also. I am only 15 years old so keep that in concideration. What is this, thanks!

Its most likely a pulled muscle in your chest wall. I was told by my cardiologist the way to tell if Im having actual chest pain or muscle pain is by pressing on my chest where I think the pain is coming from. If it hurts or feels like brusies or just uncomfortable - this is muscle pain and where your pain is coming from.

If you keep getting this and painkiller dont work to alleviate the symptoms, then see your doctor for a check over but you should be ok.

that happens to me alot, for about a month i had pulled a muscle, but that didnt feel lie you described, it was more of a straining pain,
but i also have a thin place on my lung, and it rubs against my ribcage and stings like someone stick a sewing needle in me, but i think its really hard to detect if you have it, i only know i do becuase my mom has teh same problem, and its genetic. it happens on both sides, but usally the left,
your also only 15, so keep in mind that your breasts are probably growing if your female, which can feel be either tyep of pain, im 16 and ive been getting Lots of weird pains in my chest so i saw my docter and he told me im just growing, and if your male your still likley general body is probably growing, seeing yor docter is a good idea, but it doesnt sound like you should be worried~

I have these pains every once in awhile ... not as much as when I was younger though ... and it ended up in some cases being indigestion/gas!
