Losing strength and feeling in left hand.

For a week I have been losing strength and feeling in my left hand. I cannot pin the reason. My little finger is almost completely numb and getting to the point of worry.

Symptons. Numb feeling, lack of feeling when sharp objects applied. Feeling of lethargy when applying hand to a task. General loss of strength. The hand feels 'tight.'

The numbness is spreading throughout the hand from finger to finger. Body wise there is no other problem. This is the first time this has happened. There has been no change in my routine over the past week or any major occurance to directly cause this.

I am currently located in 'Kashgar' in NW China and is not a place I particularly want to get too embeded into with this problem. I'm sure you understand.

Hoping to resolve this issue here.

Regards
Steve

Re: Losing strength and feeling in left hand.

Hi,
It might be arthritis in your hand?

There could also be a pinched nerve somewhere that could be causing it.

I would get it checked out so you can minimize any sickness or injury that could be worse if left alone!

Re: Losing strength and feeling in left hand.

Sounds more like you may be experiencing Tendenitist. I experienced the same feelings some years back. It got to the point where I couldn't open a door. Just didn't have any strength in my right arm. It can radiate down the arm to the hands. Doctor put me on ibuprofen and had me wear an arm brace designed for Tendenitist. I found the best arm brace to be one called an aircast. It put enough pressure on the large muscle in my forearm to reduce stress to it.

Another symptom associated with Tendenitist is a tenderness in near elbow.

Re: Losing strength and feeling in left hand.

Sounds like something affecting your ulnar nerve, usually at the elbow or further down. do a search on this nerve...let us know what you find.

Re: Losing strength and feeling in left hand.

Could be many reasons but neurological diseases might be considered and two that come to mind with these symptoms are Multiple sclerosis and Guillen Barre . Best wishes !!
