Always Thirstyyy ! - General Health Message Board

Hi everyone, haven't been on these boards in a while! So this is my concern, I am constantly thirsty. I am only 16 and I've been tested for diabetes and all that and I'm in the clear. When I got my blood worked on, my doctor said everything looked normal, but it is so frusterating that i am ALWAYS thirsty! At night, I drink a bottle of water before I go to bed, and then sometimes in the middle of the night I wake up with a REALLY dry mouth and am forced to drink more water. My mouth is dry not only at night but during the day too, even after I drink water. I have suffered from panic attacks and anxiety my whole life but I can't imagine that can cause constant thirst and dryness of the mouth !
Does anyone have any ideas?
Can I be dehyrdrated for no apparent reason??

Are you a mouth breather? Breathing from mouth makes it dry.

Did you do a 2 hour fasting? How did they test you for diabetes? To me, it could be a few things. Allergies, diabetes, dehydration, things like that.

You could have diabetes insipidus, which is rare and isn't sugar diabetes. Blood tests can't diagnose it.

One way to test for this is to collect your urine 24 hours, starting first thing in the morning and finishing first thing the next morning. Drink as you usually do, when you are thristy then drink what you usually drink. At the end of 24 hours if you have collected 4 or more litres (a normal person would have about 2 litres), you should be given a specific gravity urine test to establish diabetes insipidus.

There is no cure, but it is easily controlled by puffs of DDVAP up your nose once or twice a day.

I am not a mouth breather and I don't have allergies. I've mentioned to my doctor that I am always drinking water but she just told me that it is a good thing, but it worries me. I'm only 16 and still growing and everything, could I just be needing more water as I'm changing? What could I be dehyrated from? Should I go to my doctor and tell her, I just don't want her to think I am ridiculous [because I do go in there alot sometimes]. It's frusterating and I wish it would just go away !
