My Doctors Office called and said my Urine Test came back not so good.She said I have Protein in my Urine,I have aPrescription of Cipro to take.Does anyone know how this happens or what it is causes from,what should I eat and not eat?

there shouldn't be any restrictions on eating if they didn't tell you anything.. did they tell you why they are giving you Cipro? Do they think you have a urinary/bladder infection? Cipro is a serious drug, but unfortunately docs like to give it out like candy.

I was on Cipro for a kidney infection. Unfortunatly I have them chronically. Protien isn't too serious. Your pee probably smells very strong when you pee, right? A huge amount of it can mean kidney problems, but I'm sure if they gave you cipro it's just an infection. You can eat whatever you want.

Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic used in the treatment of urinary tract infections.
Protein in the urine is not caused by diet or eating too much protein. Rather, it is caused by disruption in the kidney filtration process. The problem with the kidneys could be caused by infection in which they would prescribe an antibiotic for such as ciprofloxacin. However, I would continue to have follow up visits with your doctor to ensure it does not develop into something more serious.

I would call your doc and ask why you were given the cipro.did she actually tell you that you even had an actual kidney infection?this would not be the normal thing to do when a person just has protien in their urine.protien in the urine can be caused by many different things but it is usually an indicator of some sort of actual kidney issue.you need to find out just exactly what IS going on with your body and more speciffically why the cipro was Rxed for you.you have a right to be told your actual medical condition and the reasons for Rxed treatment of any kind.I would call today.please let us know what you find out.in the world of medicine assume nothing.good luck,FB
