Pain in Hip Area
Hi All - Wasn't real sure as to where to post this thread so I figured I would start here. For about 9 months now I have been having a moderate to severe pain in my left hip. It is not constant, but very regular. It's kind of hard to explain. It does NOT feel like a pulled muscle or anything liek that. It feels almost as if my bones are rubbing together. I did talk to an urgent care doctor about this about six months ago and he said it was most likely the bursa sac in that hip and that I should apply ice and heat etc...and that eventually it would clear up. Well, it hasn't. It also feels worse if I happen to sleep on that side. And it is definitely worse if I have been sitting for a long period of time and then need to stand. The worst pain is the acutal rising from sitting to standing and then after walking it loosens up some and is not as painful, unless I need to go up stairs or anything like htat. Sometimes in the mornings it will be so bad that it is hard to walk. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? I am only 29 and have not had problems of this nature before. I am also a pain management patient for another condition and the pain meds that I take have never seemed to really do anything for the pain in my hip? So I have been hesitant to go to the doctor because I don't know what they would even do for it? Plus, since it is not always constant (only hurts about 80%) of the time it seems that every time I am AT the doctor it just so happens to be a day that it is not bothering me! So I was hoping maybe someone on here has some advice or experience with this sort of pain/problem and might know what it is? How to treat it? ETC...... Thanks!
