Weird chest pain - General Health Message Board

Sometimes, randomly, I get this really intense sharp pain in my chest, as if my ribs are poking into my heart or lungs or something. And if I try and take a deep breath, the sharp pain flares up. I doubt this is any premature heart attack but sometimes it worries me.

Lots of times gas causes this or a strained muscle. I have had the same thing(strained muscles), so has my BF(Gas) and it won't cause symptoms like you described. Do you think this is a possibility for you?

i use to get the same exact thing u desricbed. I had it checked out by the doctor and hospital, and acutally some of my friends have gotten that pain. I dont think its nothing serious, its called like a stitch or sumthing i forget. this year i havent gotten it. i think its like a come and go thing.

This happens to me a lot. I did some research and it's because I have asthma, and some times the little air sacs called alveoli pop.. But don't worry - you have millions of them.
