Exclamation Medicare Prescription Drug Plan

I wish to remind people that if you are under this plan, or if you know someone under this plan - Please make sure that the threshold amounts are properly applied.

Even though there is much information published about the threshold amounts and "donut hole" for the $2,250 and $3,600 amounts, I am concerned that many people may not be applying their "Total Monthly Prescription Costs".

For instance, one lady I spoke to is currently paying about $100/month for her monthly prescriptions. She was shocked when I told her that she would be paying the full costs of $400 for the last 3 months of the plan, and nearly that amount for 2 months (in the donut hole). She was simply looking at her $100/month payments and assuming whe would never reach the $2,250 amount.

And, I can understand her mis-interperting this matter - She is disabled, and is occupied with struggling through her day to day life.

So, please - If you know someone that may need help understanding this - Help them out.

Re: Medicare Prescription Drug Plan D

I just learned my elite plan D will not pay for a new patch med NEUPRO for parkinsons. this means i will have to pay the $3650 to $7300 annual cost.
additionally the $3650 to $7300 out of pocket does NOT count on the donut.
on a total annual prescriptions for approx $10,800 my elite insurance will pay about $1100, premiums, deductible and copayments total about $1000.
i plan to cancel my elite prescription plan D and look elsewhere.

good news major big store and some drugstore chains have an extensive $4 per prescription list. imported meds can be as much as 75% less than
domestic.
