Why do i have a pain in my chest when i cough? is this ok?

Today i noticed when i coughed that it was accompanied by a pain in the middle of my chest. Iam not sick nor have i had a cold or anything lately. I just cough every now and then, but i noticed the pain for the first time today.. its a dry cough also.. im only 23 years old.... any ideas on what this is and if i should really worry with it or not?

You may have strained an intercostal (between the ribs) muscle... it happens fairly often with coughing.

If you are really concerned, though, I'd go to a doctor- it's a scary thing to try to figure out what any kind of chest pain is.
