| Numb, swollen fingers
For the past couple of days I've had some swelling and stiffness and soreness in my right index and middle finger. It was snowy earlier this week, and this usually happens to me when we have this kind of weather, so I didn't think anything of it.
Yesterday my index finger started to go numb. This would seem normal to me if it was cold, because I have poor blood circulation, but even after I took a hot bath and I was warm it was still numb. This morning I woke up and the tip of the index finger is still numb & tingly. I can't seem to get it to feel normal no matter what I do. My middle finger is fine except for the swelling. I tried taking a hot bath again and going for a walk to get my blood circulating, but nothing seems to help the index finger.
I really can't afford to go to a doctor right now. I start a new job on Monday and won't have insurance for about a month. What is causing this to happen to me? I don't believe it's carpal tunnel because my wrist feels fine. The problem is entirely in my index and middle fingers. Is there anything I can/should do in the meantime? I'm kind of scared here...
