I recently read that there is a connection between big waistline and heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. Actually obesity and central obesity (big waistline ) are 2 different things. You can have a big waistline and have a normal weight. This is quite new to me and I wanted to share the information. It seems that it is very important to know your waistline numbers- it could be a life saver.

I saw on Oprah a show with a docotr on it, if you watch it he is always on there, he had said that a female with a omentum over 32.5in and a male over 35in is pron to heart disease. Omentum is the fat organ connected to your stomach. It's only purpose is to catch and store fat it. When the fat is stored in your stomach, your body has easy access to it. The fat then creates an inflammatory process that irritates your arteries and puts a person at risk for blocked arteries.
To find your omentum find your belly button. Before you measure, suck your stomach in as much as possible. You can't suck your omentum in so taking a deep breath in lets you measure your waist to just get the omentum. Then measure around the body meeting in the middle on the belly button with the tape measure. That's your omentum.
