A Friend is having massive Food cravings.She craves Vinegar,Salt,Dill Potato Chips,Dill Seasonings,Dill Pickles,raw Potatoes,Carrots,raw Cabbage,cooked Cabbage,Cabbage prepared any style,Apples,Sauerkraut,Tomatoes,Nectari nes,Oranges,fresh Pineapple,Strawberries,Cantaloup,Lemons and any Food with a sour/tangy/tart taste.She takes Lasix 40 MG's BID (2 times),Aldactone 25 MG's 4 per Day,Levisin 125 MG's every 6 hours,Reglan 10 Mg's TID (3 times),Elavil 25 MG's every day,Xanax 1 MG QID (4 times),Atenolol 100 MG's 50 AM 50 PM,2 Baby Aspirins daily,Phenergan (sp) 25 Mg's BID (2 times),Nitroglycerin PRN.She has IBS,Diverticulitis,Bile Reflux Disease,Hiatel Hernia,CFS,Kidney Stones x's 7,chronic Kidney Infections,Arthritis,Panic Disorder,Agoraphobic tendencies.She is 10 + years into Menopause and just went through Hepatitis B.Her Infectious Disease Doctor recently drew 14 viles of Blood for every Liver test known,and told her she NO longer has it and is now immune to acquire it again.What's up with the Food cravings?Could it be from losing Salt taking Lasix?This Woman has had a very rough time of it the past few Years.She was consuming a 30 + pack of Beer daily before acquiring Hepatitis B and not eating much of anything or drinking anything else other than Coffee and Iced Tea.Her appetite is good at present.She has had a number of Chest pain episodes lately.Doctor is making an appointment with Cardiologist.
I can't see too much wrong with what she is eating. It sounds as if her body is telling her something, maybe it is the salt, maybe vit C, lots of that in there. If she is enjoying those foods, and not gorging on them, then it should be OK for her.
I agree with Seraph about the cravings. It sounds like her body is telling her what she needs.
Btw, out of idle curiosity, has your friend ever been tested for any tickborne illnesses, like Lyme? How about Celiac (sensitivity to gluten)? I'm only asking because of her IBS, reflux, CFS, arthritis, and various psychological issues. And now the heart. Both problems have symptoms like this. It's worth mentioning.
