Can't get rid of my cough
I had a cold a couple weeks ago, which was accompanied by a cough, complete with phlegm (yum). The cold went away pretty quickly, but I'm still coughing. This cough is apparently resistant to OTC stuff like Robitussin, and I haven't found that anything exacerbates or alleviates the cough (i.e., milk doesn't seem to increase the phlegm). Hopefully this isn't TMI, but I notice the phlegm is yellowish. Don't know if that's bad or not. The cough is dry about half the time - sometimes I just cough and that's it, sometimes I get some phlegm caught. It's weird.
I had bronchitis when I was younger which, according to my doctor, was brought on by an allergy to fresh-cut grass. I have since gotten over the allergy, and where I attend college, there is very little grass to be cut. I'm not sure what's going on with me right now. I'm look at symptoms and risk factors of bronchitis and none of it matches me - I don't smoke, I don't have a fever, I'm not wheezing, I'm not short of breath (though I find at times I need to take a big yawn to feel like I've taken a full breath), and I'm not tired. That cold that I had was the first one I've had in months, so it's not as if I get them frequently.
