Spots on hands suddenly appear out of no where

Is it because of sun exposure? And are these spots normal...or should i apply something. i know they will never go away, and i guess people gather spots as they age. but it's kind of annoying and hard to get used to.

I didn't have a spot and now i have a big spot on my hand out of nowhere.

I'm 27 male.

Hi nokoBot. Is this a rash? Did it suddenly appear? You may want to get photos of it if it is a rash. It is important documenation.

You should have a doctor look at it.

no not rash. It's just little spots on my hands, .here and there.

they kind of look like, scars. or as if the skin loses color. I think they are from sun exposure.

Are the spots white? There is a condition called Vitiligo where the skin begins to lose melanin (color). This first appears as small white dots on the skin, usually the hands and arms first. Michael Jackson has Vitiligo, so does my son. I hope you don't have this but you might want to get it checked.

All the best

White spots, like the pigment has gone away? That's called vitiligo. It's fairly common. If you're going to be out in the sun, then put sunscreen on the affected area, as it's more prone to sunburn. These spots don't go away and there's not much you can do about them.

Causes? It could be genetic, chemical exposure, dietary/nutritional problems, auto-immune disease, thyroid issues, etc. It might be wise to see your dr and get a full blood panel done, just to rule out any other contributing factors.

Good luck and keep us posted!

There is also tinea versicolor, which is a fungal infection. If you go to the doctor they can confirm it (or not). It gets the same OTC med as athlete's foot or jock itch.
