bad canker sores?!?

Hey guys, I just have a quick question...

Yesterday I got a canker sore(I think) on the inside of my bottom lip, down below the line of my teeth, kind of on my gums. Anyway, It wasn't that bad yesterday, but today it's really bad, there are more of them, and they've spread to my tongue and the inside of my upper lip.

Is this something i should be worried about or will they just go away in time?

.. I'm 99.9% sure it isn't herpes or any STD. So lets just nix that idea from the start

Re: bad canker sores?!?

Owies! Canker sores really aren't something to worry about unless you seem to get them often. They can be brought on by stress or diet (folic acid, b12 or iron deficiencies, or food allergies), and usually take about 2 weeks to heal completely.

You can either get something OTC to use on them during that time or try the following:
2 ounces of hydrogen peroxide and 2 ounces of water OR
4 ounces of water mixed with 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Rinse your mouth well with either of these (using all of the solution) and wait about 1/2 hour before eating or brushing.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Re: bad canker sores?!?

Taking the amino acid Lysine can really help with canker sores. You can get this at most healthfood stores.
