Question Cramping In Body

Anyone have any idea as to what this is? I get cramps in my legs (calves) and in other parts of my body. When I bend my wrist under or over, or turn my side a certain way or turn my feet upward or downward. It's been going on for several months. I take a calcium supplement every day, alog with my regular vitamins. Am I missing something in my vitamins, or my diet?

Re: Cramping In Body

Are you drinking enough water? Hydration is essential. A good diet with lots of fruits and vegetables would give you essential minerals also.

Re: Cramping In Body

Dehydration and lack of potassium or magnesium are often the culprits. try drinking a bunch of water, and eat bananas when you can

Re: Cramping In Body

i totally agree with dust above.your mag and potassium are really two crucial minerals that need to be at the right levels or some serious muscle cramps and even actual spasticity can set in.this happened to my son while he was going thru liver failure.i am not telling you this is going on just that his body did not have those two minerals in the proper amounts during this time and it caused him just horrid actual spastic movements and the cramping.we actually had to go to the ER late one night because this just started happening.i had no clue that these two minerals, when depleted could actually cause what freaky things i was seeing with my sons arms and legs.once he was placed on higher supplimental amounts of them,he was completely fine, with the spasticity and muscle cramps.they went completely away the next day.proper hydration is also very critical too.these are just possibilities that could be the underlying problem.it wouldn't hurt you to just see your primary for a basic check up and some blood work.they would be able to check just about any possibility thru bloodwork alone,if it is a metabolic problem.but you should see your doc.nerve muscle connection issues can also cause cramping or spasms within muscle.it just needs to be evaluated by your doc to find the source that is triggering them.good luck and please keep us posted.FB
