about a year back, i injured one of my quadricep muscles playing football. It was a sharp, burning pian that felt like someone was branding me along an invisable line on the top of my leg. It burned for about 5 seconds, then just stopped and ached for a few days. I thought nothing serious of it, and rested it for around a week.

Since then, whenever i sprint or run a long distance, i get the same burning feeling down the same area of my leg, again only for a few seconds, then it just aches. It almost feels like i have ripped my muscle, and when i rapidly use it it pulls the seam open again.

Until recently, it was only when i was exercising my leg disturbed me, but yesterday i was sat down and it "tore" itself open again after what seemed like mild cramp.

does anyone know what this problem could be? or how i could stop it?
