In April I got sick with an inner ear infection. This lasted several weeks, I had some vertigo to go along with the ear infection. Ever since then I ve been unable to drive a car for more then 10 mins. I had an abnormal ENG and had 2 MRI S both came bak normal. My eye neuro says everything in fine, the regular neuro says it may be a brain virsus and may need to run its course. They are now refering me to a ear neuro.
My symptoms now are only when I drive a car or I should say the lack of driving a car. I ve been taken to the ER twice and both times I was driving. I just cant focus on the road and feel like I may pass out. Vehicles in front of mine are very hard to judge.
Oh and the only thing they have found is my vitamin b 1 is low

hi! i would check on the inner ear disorder board/threads on here or the ear, nose, throat board/threads. i've been on the inner ear disorder one with all my problems, and maybe some of the knowledgeable people on there may have some insight for you!

I can relate to not being able to drive properly. For many many months after a couple of mini strokes and severe head trauma (exact cause unknown) I could not even focus on movement of any kind and would have to lie down in the car as a passenger. Gradually, through sheer perserverence and determination I began to drive little by little. I struggled like mad with concentration and vision and probably should legally never have driven, however, I'm pleased to say many many many months later I now have days where I am able to drive quite comfortably (probably 50% of the time). Other days I daren't drive at all due to continual visual movement. Whether or not it is just sheer positivity or total change of diet I cannot say, but I just want to give you some hope and encouragement and know that you are not alone in your unusual state. What you are experiencing now may well just eventually correct itself. I do hope so.
