These are probably tonsilloliths, also called tonsil stones. It's a very common malady. Particles of food, cells from the mouth lining, bacteria, etc, get trapped in the tonsil cavity. Since saliva is contains digestive enzymes, what remains after are tonsil stones.
There's not a whole lot that can be done about them, other than gargling often with salt water and gently "cleaning" out the cavity with a finger or ear swab. Your dr might consider removing your tonsils, but that's only for very extreme cases involving frequent bouts of tonsillitis.
