Hi guys. I've had upper abdominal pain around and on my ribs and between my breast bone for a month. It is very sore on my ribs and a little below but the pain doesn't feel very deep. I've had a slew of normal digestive tests - can inflammation do this? Thanks a million!

Have you considered a neurological component to this? I get similar pain in and around my ribs which radiates to my sternum. I know this is due to my back. I have slight scoliosis and my nerves can get pinched back there.

I'd consider costochondritis--an inflammation of the cartilage around the ribs.

Rush- thanks for the info. Wow . . . that's a big word! I didn't know if you could get inflammation there - so that eases my mind.
