| Re: Cushing's disease info needed....HELP
I don't know all that much about Cushings per se, but I am a bit unusual in that I know two people that have it. The first is my stepson who got it at age fifteen - after successful surgery and with ongoing medication he is now a brilliant, successful young man who leads a very active life. The other is an ex-colleague who got Cushings in her thirties, after two surgeries she has gone on to have a child and is also living a very active and successful life.
I do know you need to get thee to the best possible doctors, who have a lot of experience treating the condition. And never be afraid to get a second opinion on any treatment that is proposed - some of the treatments that were proposed in my stepson's case would have been very harmful to his quality of life had they gone ahead. Educate yourself and get the best medical people on board that you can.
Best wishes to you.
