Smoothies - Just Like Eating Fruit?

Is drinking a smoothie that EXACT same thing as eating fruit? I don't eat much fruit, so I figure blending two or three fruits and drinking them. I put yogurt, but most of the times it's just fruit & ice?

Any suggestions? I try to have 2 a day. (home-made)

Re: Smoothies - Just Like Eating Fruit?

Hi, I do the same thing once a day. I make smoothies in a blender for my family - bananas, strawberries, or mangoes, or peaches or whatever and then add flavoured yogurt and milk. I can't see why it's not the same thing as eating a fruit - it's all in there - just blended.

best,

c

Re: Smoothies - Just Like Eating Fruit?

i would think it works the same way... but i use fat free dannon lite and fit yogurt because it has the lowest calories...

a cup of fruit.. a splash of oj and the a couple of spoonfuls of yogurt...

i also cut my fruit up and freeze it before i make smoothies works great so you don't have to add ice to water it down
