A year ago I suddenly started reacting with pain, gases, and... How to put this... I felt like I needed to "go" and little to nothing would come. And what little did come was slightly looser than usual, and with a bit of liquid stool. Well, occasionally I did need to go "for real" and it would come like normal. So... I completely stopped drinking any fizzy drinks, and I was good again. So I figured maybe it was some sort of allergy or something.
I also seemed to react to just about any drink, though not as bad as with fizzy drinks. My stomach had a strange feeling I can't really decribe... I think I could say a tingling feeling(?) and my gut was leaking small amounts of liquid... A bit too transparent to be entirely stool, maybe. It smells peculiar.
So then I begin to only drink things with no preservatives, thinking I might be reacting to some additive or something. And I'm mostly fine. Occasionally I still have the symptoms of most drinks, seemingly unrelated to anything.
I narrow the things down I can drink to just milk and water, and it gets a bit better, but only a bit.
I went to see a doctor, but she had no idea what it could be. Didn't feel like I was taken all that seriously. I got to leave a LOT (I think 6 or 7 little cylinders) of blood they sent for some allergy test. I got a letter maybe 3-4 weeks later saying they didn't find anything.
I still thought it might be some form of allergy or oversentitivity or somesuch.
Drinking only milk and water more or less made me allright. I never seemed to react to any solid foods. Bottled lemon juice to use on food (fish) made me bad too, though.
Lately I've started to react to something. I really don't have the slightest as to what, but it's nothing I drink this time. My stool sometime smells funny but doesn't look funny. Almost smells a bit like something damp maaaybe something rotten. Not like rotten meat or eggs but... I'm not sure what to say, really.
So now I'm starting to think what's wrong with me may be something else entirely, but, I really don't have the slightest now. I know something is wrong, though.
Oh, and in the mornings before I eat anything, my stomach often has that strange tingling feeling and very occasionally "leaky".
I don't think I eat anything out of the ordinary... Junk food once or maybe twice a month, and possibly a bit low on veggies... Other than that I eat pretty good, I think. I try to remember taking multivitamin pills every day (doesn't seem to have anything to do with it).
Sorry the doctor doesn't do more testing...but I hear ya! I am thinking something is going on with either the gallbladder or perhaps the appendix? It is hard to convince a doctor of something when nothing is going on at the moment when you are at the doctors so it is always good to go when there is actually something active going on...a good thought but can't generally get in at that moment. Sometimes these organs just give you once in a while chronic problems but never turn into anything significant. Only a CAT scan or MRI would give the doctor any sort of actual picture of what is going on inside. Not sure how your health system works so perhaps you could persuade them to do one of those. In this country that is a very expensive option so it would not be done unless the doctor did some creative diagnosis. I believe something is going on with you but gosh what?...just keep doing what are doing with trying different things.
While it's going on, huh?
One thing that makes me really bad is coke. If I were to go see a doctor and maybe drink half a glass or something in advance.
The thing is that the symptomps may show up anywhere from half an hour later to three hours later. Possibly more. So timing it right is just a matter of dumb luck.
I really don't feel like trying, going there and then it doesn't show up until I'm home again or has ended before I get there. *sigh* I really can't go too far away from the bathroom when the symptoms show up, though. So yes... That feels like a pretty bad idea.
I haven't seen doctors overly much. So I'm not too familiar with how it works. But the more expensive something is, the less likely you are to get it. The doctor's opinion matters alot, though. That's my impression from the local hospital, anyway. Probably varies from place to place. They might send you to a bigger hostpital, though. Not sure if I should ask, or ask to see some sort of stomach specialist whatever that would be in medical terms. Feeling pretty clueless at the moment.
I'm feeling pretty tired of this... And I miss drinking things. -_-
I just thought I'd add:
When my stomach is acting up and is leaky. Well, it's kind of oily or greasy.
Also, someone told me I look thinner than usual, the other day. Our scale is broken, so I can't check it for myself. And my lymph nodes have been acting weird for some time.
If I were you I would just sit down and write down every symptom you have had and when it all began and what helps or doesn't help(dates/times and all the details) Then go back to the doctor and give him the list or just read from it. That greasy stuff sounds like you need to go back. It might help to not eat anything with fat in it...Or try it. If this doctor doesn't do anything more then go to another or get a referral. Just don't give up and live like this ...there is an answer but you are now you own best advocate. I am sorry but no easy answers.
