shortness of breath?

hi, I'm 22 y/o male... not overweight, slim, don't drink or smoke, never had any medical issues.

...for the past day or 2 I've been having what I assume is shortness of breath (when you notice your breathing more?). That's it... I think this happened to me very briefly (one evening) about a year or two ago.

Is this something that will just go away? It's rather annoying I must say...

Re: shortness of breath?

Do you get out of breath after even mild exercise, like walking?

I don't know what it could be at your age... are you somebody who worries about his health a lot?

Couldn't hurt to see a doctor, right?

Re: shortness of breath?

nope... I'm not out of breath after walking, and not after running any more than I normally would be....

I don't worry about my health much... mainly I suppose, because I've never had anything to worry about!

Re: shortness of breath?

Do you have a lot of anxiety? My mom often breathes too quickly and shallowly, and her doctors have concluded that it's related to her anxiety problems.
I think you should see a doctor anyway, just to be sure.

Re: shortness of breath?

Have you tried looking at the anxiety forum. You will be surprised at how many people including myself have shortness of breath episodes. Go to the Doctor to discount any physical reason why you may be having them, if he gives you the all clear there, then you need to be looking into why anxiety is causing this.
