Lactulose

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

My doctor recently prescribed Lactulose as a means of cleaning the toxins out of my system. I have a liver disease so the idea is that since my liver doesn't circulate blood like it should that sometimes the toxins bypass the liver and go straight to the brain.

My question is, does Lactulose cause weight loss? I was told by a friend that I would lose a lot of weight because of it. And I know bulemics abuse laxatives to lose weight. Mind you, I am following the dose and not over using at all. I am just wondering if my friend was right.
