Over the last week or so I've been peeing a lot. It's kind of strong sudden urges to wee and generally happens when I'm walking. I've no other pain or discomfort whatsoever, just in impromptu need to wee
I'm wondering would anybody have any ideas what the cause might be? I've been surfing the net this morning and I've read all kinds of causes from diabetes, to infections to pregnancy.
If it's an infection/diabetes do you have to have pain/discomfort?
Could be that you are drinking fluids right before bed and need just to empty your bladder. As you are having no pain, just frequency, its more likey to be that. You really need to go to the Doc and get a dip test done on your urine though, Because some infections can give little or no symptoms. Also could be that you are pregnant, that was first sign i had. Also to rule out Diabeties as i just had a glucose tolerance blood done for weeing a lot more during the night than usual.
Hi. I'm guessing ita a urine infection. More so because you say your getting urges to go more frequently. You dont always get pain. Simple test will be done at yr local GP.
Just to share my own experience, I went through something similar from the time I was about 12 until I was about 22 or 23. At first it only happened every once in a while, and then it was every day. I would get sudden, extreme urges to pee, and I'd pee a lot each time (I would literally go every half hour or less for a couple hours after I drank something). Finally, the light bulb went off one day in biology class when we learned about the kidneys and that caffeine is a mild diuretic. I used to drink A LOT of caffeine because cola was my favorite thing to drink, and I'd drink it 2 or 3 times a day. I decided to stop drinking caffeine altogether, and after it all got out of my system about a week or two later, I was no longer getting sudden extreme urges to pee. I still tend to have to go more often than I think most people do, but I think it's because there is caffeine in a lot of other things that I don't think about (like chocolate, for example, and even "decaf" coffee), so I'm still ingesting small amounts of it.
This may be irrelevant for you if you just feel the urge and don't actually go a lot each time. But any chance that you are actually peeing way more than you should, pay attention to how much caffeine you're taking in. Even alcohol is a diuretic.
