Lumps in the leg - General Health Message Board

Hi,

I am a 21 year old male. I've always had a small lump about the size of a dime on the back of my leg, well at least for the past few years. It's above my knee on my right leg. Recently I've started going to the gym and working out alot, I think this has bothered the lump, because it has grown in size and in pain. I notice the pain now pretty constantly, and I"m not sure what to do about it. Does anyone have any idea what this is, or what I can do about it? thanks.

What did your doctor say about it when you mentioned it at your last any physical? If you haven't already mentioned it to him then be sure to do that so it is noted on your medical chart. Since it is growing and is more painful you need to see your doc and have it examined so he can compare it to when you first brought it to the docs attention.

It could simply be calcium deposits. I get these bumps all over my legs, back, arms, and stomach. Some hurt and some dont. They are all pretty much the same size the size of a large marble. They start out small and get to that size and stop growing. You need to see a dr. and have it checked out. It could be something like this but it could also be something a lot more serious. You won't know until you see a dr. Isn't it worth your peace of mind to go?

Just a follow up. I was the one that originally posted the question about the lump in my leg. It's not a torn muscle or anything wrong. I've had a CT scan and an ultrasound. The basic concensus is that its a lump composed of some tangled veins and subcutaneous fatty tissue. There's nothing really that needs to done about it, and it shouldn't get worse. Just thought y'all would like to know.
