Hi,

I'm a 21 year old male. I've been suffering from excessive sweating for about the past year. It's not really a full body problem, and it's not hyperhidrosis, because that is mainly focused on the palms or the head. My head does sweat, but its mainly my back that sweats, profusely! In summer on really hot days I've drenched my way through both tshirt the shirt on top of it. and even in cooler weather I still perspire more than normal. My doctor is in the process of trying to figure out what this is, but I was just throwing this out to you guys in case anyone has had something similar and has any advice on it?

Excessive sweating in any form is considered hyperhidrosis, it is not simply hand or facial sweating. Most doctors will try to test you for thyroid or diabetes to rule out underlying causes. Sorry to say but most people do not find any medical condition that causes the sweating. If that is the case with you, you and your doctor can consider your using Ditropan or Robinul. These are drugs used for other conditions but one of the side effects of them is to cause dryness.

Because you sweat from your back, obviously anti-perspirants won't do you any good and that is why, if your problem becomes unbearable, you should look into those other drugs. The other solution is to dress in dark clothing which hides sweat stains effectively.

There are also absorbant pads that are sold called Dry Bak. You might want to consider something like that.

I hope you will post an update if you do find a medical condition that is causing the sweating. I'd be interested in hearing the results of your tests.

Hi Carole,

I wonder if you could tell me where I can find the Dry Bak pads. I looked online and all I came up with was a website for a DryBak hiking t-shirt which is still under production. Thanks.

Do you have any other symptoms like fatigue, morning back ache that goes away as the day progresses, dizzy on standing, blurred vision that goes away, rapid heart beat or easy tiring on exercise?

i had night sweats the doctor put me on womens hormons pills they where for manapause they work.no more sweats.
