| Re: Torn Thigh
the only problem with trying to even get this stitched at this point is that window of opportunity is passed.there is,and i cannot remember for certain just the exact time frame, but like 6-10 hours?at like the latest that you realistically can even get stitches.there are a few reasons for this.one being too much bacteria gets into the wound for them to even WANT to go there, unless they scrub, and i mean scrub, the living heck out of the wound first to get it out then flush it with anti B solution.but the second reason is,once the sides of that wound start to necrotize, they dry out and start to get hard?the chances of those sides of the wound actually closing in any real way are pretty slim to none(too much cell death).when it comes to sutures the general rule is always the sooner the better.but that doesn't mean this does not need treatment to try and keep it closed better so it can heal eventually.there are other things they can do to help with that.i absolutely would seek out at least an urgent care facility or ER today ad see what they can do for you.this doesn't appear that it is going to close together without some sort of help.they just need to bring those sides together as closely as possible together so scar tissue can eventually form inside the wound itself and eventually heal for you.but it has to be able to stay closed in order for this to actually occur.it just needs to be handled without stitches at this point.i just cannot imagine any doc who is knowledgable on sutures and the way things get after time passes with the skin and the growth of bacteria would realistcially even attempt to even try sutures at this point.if someone does,i would be asking ALOT of questions.once those sides begin to dry out, reattachment is pretty much an impossibility.and that happens just within hours of a cut.but this does still need attention and some help in keeping those sides as close as possible to minimize overall scarring.the wound will eventually 'fill in' once it scabs over and can stay that way.good luck with this.just see someone today if possible to get the best help with this healing right.please let us know how things go,K? FB
just wondering when your last tetnaus shot was?you may also need one of those too depending on just when the last one was.if you cannot actually remember when that was, then you probably need one.just an FYI.
