Question Weird taste in throat???

Boy I sure do have alot of medical problems!!! lol

Anyways, for a couple of months now I have had this horrible weird taste in the bottom of my throat, like in that spot right above my collarbone on my throat. I can't explain what the taste is like. I don't have a sore throat, no runny nose, and no coughing. It feels like phlegm but I try to cough to get it out and nothing comes out...I don't even feel anything move. I don't smoke either.
and I am 90 lbs and 5'0'' short.... and I am 19 years old female. If any of that even matters. I do have fillings in my teeth if that matters? And yes I do brush my teeth twice a day, once in the morning and once at night.

What could this be??? Should I just start taking mucinex to see if it clears up?? Or could it be something else?

and no it's not acid reflux...

thanks in advance!
love Tara

I was told by a doctor that some phlegm can be so thick that it's really hard to cough or get up. If it's coming from you're throat and definately not your chest (which would rule out cataargh (spelling?) or a chest infection) then mucinex should do the trick. Give it a go and if the problem remains then obviously make a trip to you're local doctors.

Re: Weird taste in throat???

Hi
Try brushing your tongue and the roof of your mouth, (if you don't already) It may make you gag- but try to do it. The other thing I do is mix hydrogen peroxide with water and gargle with it.
Do you still have your tonsils? I read, here on the boards, about tonsil stones (I think that's what they were called) and they caused bad breathe/taste-check it out. Good Luck!
