Re: fluid behind the ears what to do

Is flonase what your doctor prescribed for fluid in your child's ear?

My daughter had hearing loss, then pain (fluid, not infection) in her ear. They tried prescription decongestants, then a few rounds of steroids and nothing cleared it up. Her hearing test showed significant hearing loss. They finally put a tube in her ear and now her hearing loss and pain are gone. She's 15 and I'd say she had hearing loss without us knowing it for years.

There are several steps to take before tubes are the solution. Seeing a good ENT is the first step.

Good luck!
