being cold all the time is a symptom of what?

being cold all the time is a symptom of what?
i am hypothyroid and have been on thyroid medication since i was 18 years old...my thyroid level is checked frequently and remains within a normal range - i also have had my blood counts checked numerous times and they are within the normal range (have not been anemic) - my weight is proportionate for my height - 119 pounds / 5 feet) - i am always cold, always - even in the summer - any ideas?

That sound like you just described me. I have no ideas. I rarely even sweat.

The only difference in us, is that I do not have thyroid problems.

I will keep checking back in to see what others have to say.

Re: being cold all the time is a symptom of what?

I have the same problem. I am actually typing this while in a blanket, socks, hoodie and sweats. I'm always freezing. My doctor told me after all the tests, that sometimes even when you aren't anemic, a little extra iron does help. He also said to stay away from lots of caffiene--which I have to have at least a pot of coffee a day. He mentioned that when I am cold to do stretches before sitting for a while or even before bed. He said I could chalk mine up to having poor circulation. While that sounded serious, it's not, it is common for all types of people. I am 4'11" and all of 118 lbs. I stretch before sitting like I am now, which I didn't do by the way. Try that! Good Luck!

Come to think of it, I don't sweat much either. I drink water all the time now and never bloat like mom does during pms. hmmmm.....
