I have a son aged about 14 years. Last week he was bitten by domestic cat when his foot accidentally came

over the tail of cat. After that I have consulted the child specialists for the ant rabies vaccines. I am confused because

one group of doctors is of the opinion that the child should be vaccinated, while the other group is against vaccination.

Now what should I do?

Please help me in this regard that either vaccination is necessary in this situation or not.

Personally, I would err on the side of caution and have the shots. A few years ago, my son was camping with a friend and the friend's parents, and he was scratched by a squirrel. (Odd, I know.) His doctor was concerned because that's not normal squirrel behavior, so my son had the series of rabies shots. They're definitely not pleasant, but they could have saved his life.

How soon should you start the shots after the altercation?
