Facial Neuralga

I have this and it is very painful situation as there doesn't seem to be any kind of way to get rid of it except for an operation in a person head. Any suggestion on how to handle the pain.

Re: Facial Neuralga

What does the doctor say about the pain?

Do you by chance have Bells Palsy?

Re: Facial Neuralga

Is it Trigeminalnueralga that you have? I don't think that there is a cure at this time. My husband's uncle has it. He has had surgery to have the nerve cut to help ease the pain. If this is what you have, you have my sympathy. I know that it is a very painful disease...far worse than Bells palsy.

Has your doctor suggested any of the medicines for nerve pain? Or aren't they considered strong enough to handle the pain? There are several meds that have been developed that work on just nerve pain. Neurontin, Lyrica, Topomax are three that come to mind...have you tried any of these?
