Thumbs down How much should i weigh?

I'm 20 and these are my measurements etc:

Height- 5' 6.5"/170cms
Weight- about 7.3 Stone/102lbs/46kg
Chest- 32 inches
Waist- about 24 inches
Hips- about 30-32 inches

My BMI is 15.5

In the UK i'm a clothes size 8, i guess thats a US 4.
The measurements are all approximate apart from weight and height.

How much should i weigh for my height and age, how many calories should i be eating?
'm usually a real god eater getting 3-4 meals a day, but lately i cant eat 1 whole meal and i don't know why, ive gone off food completely. I dont even snack much when i used to eat loads of choccy n crisps!
I'm afraid of losing more weight!
Does anyone have any advice?

Sorry for the long question =]

Re: How much should i weigh?

For your height your ideal weight should be anywhere between 8-11 stone. So you are slightly underweight.

Have you always been this weight or are you losing it? i.e. Through lack of appetite.

If you have gone off food then try breaking down your day into 6 small meals. Also you may want to see your GP if you have suffered loss of appetite as it can be a symptom of many possible medical problems.

It could also be stress related, are you having a particularly hard time about anything at the moment?

P.S I'm also from the UK. Essex in fact.

Re: How much should i weigh?

Hey

I've always been underweigtht but after putting some on i'm now losing it really quickly due to my loss of appitite.

I suffer from depression but i have done for a while and if anything i ate more, it was like comfort food.

I've been to my GP and had all the necessary tests but im all clear!

I'm trying to break my meals down but i cant even manage one small one some days!
I lose weight so quickly which is why im scared! I can lose a stone in a month!

I went to see the GP today and he thinks it might be side effects from a med im on but i have to see if this changes before he does anything as these might wear off.

I'm trying to convince my mum i'm not anorexic! Because im so underweight she thinks i am. But i love food and i try to eat well so i'm not?

Re: How much should i weigh?

Food and appetite can be a strange thing, if you go through a period of time not eating much then the stomach shrinks and it does take quite an effort to get your appetite back.

Make sure you eat plenty of fruit, and have you tried things like soup?

How do you feel when you try to eat, do you feel sick as soon as something is in your mouth?

Also when you say you aren't eating, do you literally go through the day without eating anything? Because if so then you will lose weight very very quickly.

Other than the depression and the loss of appetite, are you suffering from any other symptoms? Stomach pains? Are you going to the toilet regularly such as passing stool once a day.

If you have no other symptoms then I really think the problem with lack of appetite is more physcological or a side effect from medication rather than any physical problem.

You really need to try and get some regularity back into your diet. Eating at the same times each day i.e. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Also ensure you are drinking plenty of water.

Other than that being naturally underweight is not something you should really worry about. I myself can very much relate to you as an underweight person, and i have been all my life.

It used to affect my confidence in my teens and early twenties but now at the age of 27 I am happy the way I am.
