been there done that. i think just about anyone who brushes their teeth,at some point has cut or slipped and resulted in some sort of a sore or actual laceration in their gums. the very best and quickest way to actually heal the mucosal(mouth and nasal tissue)tissue is by doing salt water swishes. just take a salt shaker and kind of cover the bottom of a cup pretty good and then add some warm water to it,it doesn;t have to be much just enough to do this swish like four times. but make sure you have a good amount of salt and also mix it together well too. then just take some like you would a mouthwash,and swish it around like you would mouthwash,making sure to try and direct it to the cut area most, and spit it out. just doing this like a couple times a day for the next few days will help alot in healing and with the pain.

the very best thing i have found for the pain part is using ora gel? you can buy this at any drug store in the toothpaste and brush aisle. it really does help with gum pain since it contains a numbing agent,benzocaine? either just put some on a finger and rub it over the area or put some on like a Q tip? and do the same thing. this really helps tons,and you can apply it as much as you need to during the day and it helps before bed too. listerine is also good since it contains alcohol which also numbs since it is a form of anesthetic. but that will sting before it numbs. but it does work.

just some helpful hints that have gotten me thru some mouth pain issues. but that salt water shishing really does help to speed healing. luckily,for some reason,all mucosal tissue tends to heal much more quickly than other types of tissue does. it shouldn;t take too long. let me know how things go.
