I'm having pins and needles experience in my hands and body off and on... - General Health Message Board

So right after I took a Tylenol PM(probably just a coincidence, I don't know) 5 days ago I was experiencing some tingling in my hands like I rarely do when I wake up. The day after my hands were tingling on and off throughout the day but not that often. The next day like 5-10 times my back and stomach as well as sides were tingling... I thought it would only happen in my hands because I thought I had carpal tunnel syndrome since I do use my hands a whole lot (guitar, video games, typing). I've noticed that my hands. forearms, and body tingle when I'm surprised or get kind of nervous... an example would be when my teacher all of a sudden called on me, and then I was experiencing the tingling. Could someone tell me what this could be? I'm a 16 year old male.

I forgot to mention that this has been the most stressful week in a long time... but it still could be a coincidence, I don't know.

Clay, there are different things that can cause that. If it continues really get it checked out. Have you been stressed out alot, or nervous? Alot of people have tingling in there hands or othe places have been found to have problems with their spine. I guess what I am saying is if this continues get it looked at. You are young but age does not exclude you from things occuring. Sometimes the more we let things go the worse they become. If you can keep alittle journal & write down when it occurs & what you were doing before or at the time. This can be a huge help to the doctors & at times it can take forever to figure out what is wrong. Alot of people do that & find it really helps out. good luck to you

[COLOR="Navy"]The tingling when you get suprised is an adreneline rush that occurs because of the suprise. Have you ever noticed that in a moment of anger or suprise that you feel rather numb, then all of a sudden you get that tingling feeling as the blood supply is pushed back into the extremeties?

I haven't noticed at numbness when I'm in a moment of anger or surprise, butI will try and see if I feel any next time.

For the first post, I have been pretty nervous and stressed out the past week, and I do think the amount of tingling has been decreasing. If the tingling continues for one more week I will get checked out.
